Extended desktop is a feature in a computer that allows a user to extend viewing capabilities by using two or more monitors at the same time. Extended desktop mode allows the user to display a single document or application across multiple monitors, or use each monitor to display a different document or application. To activate the Expended Desktop find the Intel® HD graphic icon in the right lower corner.
Click on it and highlight graphic options. Slide over and click output to- you should have a check before clone display Slide down and click on Extended Desktop Click on Digital Display + monitor. Once you have it “converted”, minimize the screen you want the kids to engage with/watch and drag it over to the left – into space and onto your screens from your monitor so that it is projected and live on the screen and your screen is on your desktop. Maximize and then get that Newsletter, grades or Blog done!
If you wish to utilize the Smartboard Interactively during a session- let’s say you have a lesson with a sort activity and you want to have them engaged while you are doing attendance- follow the same directions, but before you drag the screen over- orient from the bulls eye icon in the left hand lower corner. The orient screen will give you a choice to hit space bar to orient other surface. Orient the smartboard and then drag over your interactive lesson.
Don’t forget to do the steps backwards back to digital clone to get your monitor and screen “back to normal”.
